The potato masher basket is a unique basket that Debbie weaves using an antique potato masher as a handle. She always gets a lot of comments from people about the use of such an ordinary item being incorporated into her work. Potato mashers, at least the handles, came in a variety of style and color and Debbie collects as many as she can find through antique malls and even yard sales. She weaves the bottom of the basket into the masher's base which measures approximately 5 inches wide and 9 inches long. The depth of the basket averages around 4 inches.
